MVP Video Production is an Iowa based video production studio. MVP Video Production is a downtown business, in Cedar Rapids. We were located in the Cherry Building in the New Bohemia District, and were flood affected like many of our neighbors. Making films and telling stories is what we do.
“Resilience – The Spirit of Humanity” is the documentary film about the unsung heroes who helped save Cedar Rapids, Iowa from the disastrous Flood of 2008.
In June of 2008, Cedar Rapids suffered the worst flood it had ever experienced. The Cedar River rose to a height of 31.12 feet, 11.12 feet above the previous high in 1851. The Cedar River exceeded the 500 year flood plain, and its flooding affected 10 square miles of the city. The flood centered its attention on the downtown. Thousands of people and countless businesses were displaced, including one of only two hospitals serving Cedar Rapids. Our film takes an in-depth look at what happened during the flood and how unsung heroes helped save a city.
